January 22nd-24th - Overnight Harford Glen Field Trip for Students (no chaperones permitted)

This year your student will rotate to each fifth grade teacher for different subjects. Each fifth grade teacher will be responsible for teaching one specific subject and all teachers will be responsible for teaching writing. For more information on our departmentalilzation schedule please read the letter below and check "Our Class Schedule"

Fifth graders are expected to turn work in on time. Please see the letter below that outlines the fifth grade late work policy.

As in years prior, your student will be issued a student device during their first week of school. This device should stay at school unless a teacher gives your child direct permission to take their device home. Students are responsible for their device. Please see the laptop rules below that students will review and sign the first week of school. Additionally, a Student Device Agreement will be sent home the first week of school in your child's whale folder. This outlines the parents responsibility if your child's device is damaged or missing.

All students have the option of purchasing a lunch in our cafeteria. Lunches are $2.50 per meal. A meal includes an entree, fruit/veg, and a milk. Additional drinks, sides & snacks can be purchased at an additional cost. Please see the flyer below for information on how to place money on your students lunch account using MySchoolBucks. Additionally, your child may qualify for meal benefits. Please use the button below to apply. You will recieve a letter confirming your status.

Home Access Center gives you the ability to check your students grades and progress throughout the duration of the school year. Teachers strive to update Home Access Center once a month. Please see the Home Access Center user guide below for additional information on using HAC. As well, you can use the button below to log on to Home Access Center or create an account.

All students will dismiss from school either as a bus rider, car rider, Barksdale walker, or Trimble walker. Unsure about your child's dismissal? Please contact the Joppatowne main office. Offices are open Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm. 

In the event that your child needs to be dismissed another way, you must provide written notice to your child's teacher prior to dismissal. Please note, if you choose to send a classdojo message to your childs teacher the day of the dismissal change, it may not be viewed before dismissal. It is best to send written notice of a dimissal change. Dismissal notes can be found below.
